Bill to protect and fund America's natural areas and public lands.
The problem
Public lands need better care and funding. Many natural areas face environmental threats and limited maintenance resources.
The proposal
Increases protection and funding for national parks, forests, and public lands. Establishes conservation programs and management standards.
The impact
Affects outdoor recreation users, conservation groups, state/local governments, and taxpayers who fund public land management.
Stronger protections for parks and forests preserve wildlife habitats and ecosystems. This keeps these areas healthy for future generations.
Better-maintained public lands attract more visitors for camping, hiking, and fishing. This supports local economies and outdoor recreation industries.
Funding increases create jobs in park maintenance, conservation work, and ranger positions. Communities near public lands benefit from employment opportunities.
Protected forests and natural areas help store carbon and fight climate change. Healthy ecosystems provide environmental protection benefits.
Expanding public land programs requires more federal funding. Taxpayers bear the cost of conservation and maintenance work.
Greater protection may limit mining, drilling, and development on public lands. Industries and property owners could face reduced access opportunities.
Increased federal control over lands affects state authority and local economies. Some communities worry about losing control over resource decisions.
Managing expanded programs requires trained staff and coordination. Delays or inefficiencies in implementation could limit actual benefits.

Money from people who work there, not from the company. Not tied to this bill.
Itemized individual contributions via FEC, grouped by the employer each contributor self-reported. Companies and unions cannot contribute to federal candidates from their treasuries, so these totals are money from people who work at an employer — never from the organization itself. They are campaign contributions covering a full election cycle and are not connected to this bill.
